Activities/Attractions: The once sleepy village of Playa del Carmen doubled twice in population in the last few years, mainly due to Europeans who discovered the alabaster-white beaches, gentle surf, coral reefs and slow lifestyle were the equal of the more expensive island of Cozumel just across the straits. Playa's dock is the pier for the 'people ferry' to Cozumel, so it's only a short trip over to snorkel or dive on Cozumel's incredible coral reefs.
Located on the beautiful Mexicana Caribbean coast some 40 miles (60 kms.) south of Cancun, Playa , as it is now affectionately known, is the perfect base from which to explore the fascinating sites along the Cancun -Tulum Corridor of Quintana Roo (now called Mayan Riviera).
A myriad of dining options ranging from roadside taco stands to upscale, fine-dining restaurants line 5th Avenue, downtown's pedestrian walkway. Enjoy local Mayan cuisine or choose from a variety of international eateries, including Italian, French, Argentinian and Thai restaurants. For local dishes venture up Juarez Avenue or past 10th Avenue to sample authentic Mexican food.
The strong foreign influence has created a unique vagabond traveler ambiance. Numerous outrageously delicious restaurants provide sustenance and several foreign-owned hotels raise the standards of service to exacting levels. Combine that with a relaxed Mexican-Caribbean feeling and a sprinkling of American free- spirits and you've got Playa. It's definitely not the place to 'get away,' but it is a place to enjoy marvelous beaches by day and a lively nightlife in the evening. The mix of backpackers, archeological buffs and New Age sun worshippers makes Playa very interesting and worth some time.
General Information: Welcome to Villas Xaguar ... a group of five Mediterranean style villas surrounded by large trees and gardens - a beautiful place in the Caribbean Mayan Riviera, Playa del Carmen, Mexico!.
The villas are located ten minutes away walking from the town and 45 meters away from the beach, walk to everything! There are two or four bedroom villas, 130²m and 230²m. We also have 3 studios available!
