Activities/Attractions: Greve in Chianti is situated at what was the crossroads of an important road axis in past times. It developed predominantly as a market town, with a large market being held in the unusual triangular piazza lined with porticoes, which is still always busy and lively.

Greve is surrounded by delightful villages, such as Montefioralle with its stone houses and paved streets, or Panzano not far from which is the fine Romanesque church of San Leolino, with a five-arch sixteenth-century portico. The interior houses precious works of art. There are also many castles in the surroundings of Greve; originally defensive bastions they are now elegant residences or famous estates

Castello di Lamole is near many important cities in Tuscany. You can visit in a few minutes by car the wonderful city of Florence and Siena. There you can visit the most important museums, squares and monuments. You can also visit some typical Tuscan villages like S. Gimignano, Volterra, Motefioralle and many others.

The Castle of Lamole is situated along the municipal road leading to the small town of Lamole. The road goes up from the Castle towards the town and it is possible to cover it walking for just 5 minutes offering panoramic views of the Chianti hills.

"Absolutely beautiful! Great helpful staff. We felt as part of the family and could really recommend Castello di Lamole to friends and family. Nice clean big room with a feeling of old style. Bathroom was very new and clean."

"Our apartment was large, clean, well furnished, well equipped, comfortable and quiet. We'd go back tomorrow if we could! Highlight of the stay was our dinner in the Castello's small restaurant when the owner, who turned out to be the famous Tuscan folksinger, Riccardo Marasco, began singing for his guests. This man's voice is designed for the public piazza - he sang beautifully without benefit of amplification. Truly magical!"

"Our stay at the Castello di Lamole was picture perfect. The old village is very charming and the accommodations is each unique. We enjoyed bread and wine on our patio each evening before dinner. Our 2 college age daughters joined us and enjoyed the area as well. The restaurant on site, Aia dei Canti serves delicious local meals using fresh products. On Sat. nights , a bit of folk singing by Riccardo, one of the owners, provides us with entertainment. Castello di Lamole is half way between Florence and Sienna, so it is a perfect location for those day trips as well as every village in between. A short walk up the hill brings you to the town of Lamole. It has another wonderful restaurant as well as more wine and a small grocery. Everything we ate and drank was delicious, the people we met, warm and friendly. We are going back in a year to enjoy the Castello again with friends. Our daughters are disappointed they are not invited this time!"
