Activities/Attractions: In Santa Fe you'll be nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the foothills of the Rockies, immersed in natural beauty, with an average of 300 days of sunshine and blue sky. The city was established in 1610 and is the oldest capital city in the United States.
Predating the European settlement of Santa Fe is the culture of the Native American Pueblos, dating back 12,000 years. The Spanish culture arrived with the incursion of Coronado in 1540. Centuries of conflict turmoil and some assimilation ensued culminating in 1846 with the Mexican American War and New Mexico becoming a territory of the United States. Passed over 15 times, New Mexico finally was admitted to the Union in 1912 as the 47th state.
Today, the high desert of Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico are, of course, physically part of the American landscape but not always strictly of America. The Pueblo, Spanish, and Anglo cultures interweave the old with the new creating a rich, often mystifying "Land of Enchantment".
Your visit to Santa Fe would not be complete if you did not take the time to visit our historic downtown plaza ... a nice six-block stroll from our bed and breakfast.

"While not "on the Plaza", this B&B is close enough for walking and for getting a feel of a historic part of the city. The B&B itself is decorated in the true "Santa Fe" sense with carved headboards, furniture, tin work and really warm tiled floors. The owners are truly knowledgable about the area and it's history. Enjoy a breakfast with the owners Mother "Concha" and you will learn more than any book can tell you. The food is great too!"

The breakfasts were hot and cooked to order and the innkeepers were fantastically nice and charming - they really kept the conversation going with the other guests and had wonderful suggestions for things to do around town. The building itself is a charming old adobe, with covered parking and thick walls. The room was large."

Breakfasts are fabulous. Rooms are comfortable and several have patios and kiva fireplaces. I liked being on the east side of Santa Fe, a little away from the frou frou places. Many good restaurants nearby and a pleasant walk to the Plaza. We will be staying here again."

General Information: Welcome to Guadalupe Bed and Breakfast Inn and you will find yourself on the property of one of the oldest local families of Santa Fe. Owned and operated by three members of the Pedro and Concha Quintana family, the Inn was built on the site of their grandfather's store on Agua Fria Street, a stone's throw from the historic Santuario de Guadalupe, one of the oldest churches in Santa Fe.
We are located in the oldest district of Santa Fe, the historic Guadalupe District. Agua Fria, the street on which we are located, was once the famous Camino Real, an ancient route connecting northern New Mexico to Mexico. You will find that our food is prepared using the same recipes and techniques that we learned from our parents, grandparents and other family members and friends who were native New Mexicans.

"If you're looking for comfortable bed and breakfast lodging in the heart of old Santa Fe, consider the Guadalupe Inn. It is run by two sisters, Henrietta and Dolores, and if you're lucky, you may get to meet their 94-year old mother. The atmosphere is homey and friendly, and the breakfasts are New Mexico cuisine at its best. There are numerous fine restaurants near the Inn, and downtown, with its many most visited attractions, is a short drive or even a vigorous walk away. Off-street parking at the Inn is more than adequate. All in all, a great base for exploring Santa Fe and environs."
