Activities/Attractions: The parish of Saint James (St. James) is an area located in the western part of the country of Barbados. Increasingly St. James is being known as the playground of the rich and famous, and haven for sun-starved tourists. Though a haven for tourists and foreign expatriates, St. James is far from exclusive. As one of the bigger parishes, it is home to over 20,000 nationals strewn across its many districts, across various social strata.

Whilst many people enjoy the idyllic beaches, there are many activities to enjoy, delicacies to sample and sights to see. While beach lovers and sun worshipers will simply be in their version of heaven, family members or partners can be endlessly entertained with the huge range of leisure activities on offer including hiking, horse riding, paragliding, sky diving, rock climbing, 4x4 driving and motor cross, golf and a massive range of water sports. "Chandra is the proprietor of a clean, basic motel/apartment on the lovely west coast of Barbados. She is a wealth of information on Barbados and her staff is friendly and hospitable. Now if you are the type of independent traveler that doesn't need much in the way of pampering and like to explore on your own. This is the place for you. You get a basic clean apartment with kitchen, a helpful and courteous staff and access to the best beaches are close by. Chandra will help you set up a cheap car rental and will point you to all you need to know. Her staff is great. An the apartment is large and probably the cheapest that you'll get on the west coast."

"Our apartment was spacious and very airy. There was an a/c unit, but we kept all the windows opened and enjoyed the breezes. The one-story wooden building, with a little verandah space and table and chairs for each unit, seemed pleasantly beachy and similar to traditional buildings on the island. The cleaning lady was great, sometimes coming in more than once a day and keeping our apartment spotless and free of sand."

"This truely is a great deal for the location. Chandra the hotel owner is very knowledgeable about the island and will cook breakfast or dinner if you want. She has 3 very sweet dogs that do get barking when the other dogs in the area start up! I would definitely recommend the Angler for anyone on a budget that wants to stay in the best area in Barbados, most hotels are 5-8 times as much a night!"

"A beautiful, small, clean, friendly and secluded little resort that is tucked away just off the main road and surrounded by its own array of dense tropical plants and fruits. its barely a minutes walk to the beach and with the frequent buses passing by - other beautiful beaches are minutes away up towards Holetown and Speightstown. The apartments are well equipped for those self catering nights and the on-site restaurant and bar serves a great array of delicious dishes and drinks. if like your quiet time quiet - this is the perfect place to come back to after a days snorkeling with the fish and the perfect place to sit and read over breakfast."
