Activities/Attractions: Trenton was first settled in the early 1760s, when it was called Thornbury, or Thorndike Plantation. For many years ship building, fishing and shipping were the livelihoods of the population. The 1900s brought rapid growth as Trenton became established as the gateway to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Lobster pounds flourished as many stopped for their first taste of Maine's famous delicacy.
This is the place to bring the family. Kids, mom, pop and even the family dog will have a great time. Trenton is well-known as the family recreation area of Downeast Maine.

The Sunrise Motel invites you to enjoy its spacious and comfortable accommodations. We have the most reasonable rates in the entire Bar Harbor/Mt. Desert Island area!
Guests may choose among rooms with one queen bed, two double beds, or two double beds with an efficiency kitchen. Efficiencies can adjoin 2 double bedrooms. Cribs and roll-aways can be provided upon request. Non-smoking rooms are available, and bring your pets along if you like. Room and Motel features include:

"We detoured to Bar Harbor on the way back from Newfoundland. We met a man named Steve and he was very welcoming. We were pleased by the low off season rates before the end of August and stayed several days. We enjoyed the on site BBQ, pool and the close proximity to Bar Harbor ... We intend to return."
"This motel is very conveniently located to Acadia National Park. Ellsworth is very close as well, with a Walmart. There is a grocery close to the motel which is nice because the motel has kitchenette rooms available. They have a lovely inground pool that is covered every night. The motel is adjacent to a small airport but the plane noise was no problem at all. The owners are very nice. Our room was very clean and our room was the largest room we've ever had with a kitchenette ... All in all, a great place to stay."
