Activities/Attractions: Paarl, some 60 km north-east of Cape Town, is one of the three oldest European settlements in South Africa where early explorers in the Cape area were in constant search for gemstones. Paarl, with its 75,000 inhabitants, is today the biggest town in the Cape Winelands.

Situated only 45 minutes from Cape Town, and close to the golden beaches of both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, Paarl has the infrastructure of a small city without sacrificing its country atmosphere. It is, like most of the towns in the region, a prosperous community with many well maintained mansions, pretty Cape Dutch houses, beautiful gardens and old oak trees. There are many wine estates situated in the valleys, which are amongst the best in the country. Paarl is the venue for a number of annual events such as:

General Information: This stylish and charming house lies within the Paarl conservation area of the Western Cape of South Africa in a quiet and leafy street, typical of the town that is a blend of rural and urban. The close proximity of the vineyards and fruit farms to Paarl town is unusual, combining stunning scenery with convenience for visitors, whether they be on vacation or in the area for business. Paarl lies within the picturesque Berg River Valley bordered by the Drakenstein Mountains - great for walking and climbing – and is within 25 minutes scenic drive of neighbouring Franschhoek and Stellenbosch.

Aster Palms is nestled within the leafy Paarl conservation area, and is an 80 year old restored neo-Cape Dutch house providing high quality accommodation for visitors and business people alike. We can provide bed and breakfast or the use of the whole house for a minimum of three nights.

• Each bedroom welcomes you with a hospitality tray of Caturra filtered coffee sachets, a variety of herbal teas, Earl Grey, Ciro's hot chocolate sachets and homemade cookies
  
• Aster Palms has four double bedrooms and can accommodate up to 10 people, with two extra on a sofa bed
  
• There are two en-suites, a separate shower and toilet outside two bedrooms and a free-standing bath and shower down the corridor
  
• All rooms include TV and the lounge comes with satellite TV, DVD and video player and music system
  
• Outside in the front garden are roses, lavenders and azaleas
  
• The rear garden boasts other exotic flowers and plants that surround the palm-fringed solar-heated pool
  
• The library is well stocked with over 500 books in English and Afrikaans
  
• A grand piano stands in a formal reception room
  
• The large kitchen and breakfast room is equipped with electric oven, hob, microwave, a dishwasher, washing machine, a tumble dryer and a large fridge-freezer
  
• We also have an internal braai (BBQ) room, with another portable BBQ set for outside use
