The building at 460 King St West was originally the Spadina Hotel where many celebrities stayed and played. Included in this distinguished list are the Rolling Stones, Jack Nicholson, the Tragically Hip, and Leonard Cohen.
Finally in 1997, this icon of Toronto history was reborn as a youth hostel under the name Global Village Backpackers.
